Well I haven't been much of a blogger lately. I've not been very busy and nothing really blog-worthy has happened until this week. The saga of my 12 year old camry came to an end today. I traded it in for a brand spankin' new 2006 Honda Accord Coupe V6-EX. I was going to wait and buy it in July when I actually have a job, but my late camry began a new leak of antifreeze this week and the boyfriend informed me that it's time. So, Monday night we went to the Honda dealership and I test drove the 4 cylinder accord coupe, then the V-6. Big mistake. As I told my brother earlier this week, "never test drive a car you cannot afford". I was in total love with the V-6. Not only is it super fast, it has XM radio and a navigational system! The very sad news for me was that the MSRP is over $29,000. No way could I afford those payment, especially right now living on students loans. However, it being December, the Honda people are wanting to sell cars so I got a few online quotes from some other places and then the boyfriend, aka...the Master Negotiator, used those quotes to get a better price. We got one Hell of a deal, and they also gave me almost double what my camry's blue book value is. (that $ 12 car wash it got really helped!)

However, black accord coupes with black leather interior are somewhat difficult to find, and one was finally found early today in Dallas so I didn't get my car until late tonight. It was dark, rainy, and cold- not the ideal circumstances to drive home your new car, but I was excited just the same. I did get teary eyed when I got out of my camry for the last time and double checked to make sure all my stuff was out. It was a great car for me and it never left me stranded. It ran today like it did the day I bought it. I'm sure if I shelled out the cash to fix all the little leaks that it would run another 168,000 miles, but in reality, the car isn't worth that much money, despite the good care I gave it. Plus, I need a reliable car. I can't have my car in the shop every month meanwhile missing school. My new car feels so strange-not like my camry. My camry felt like a comfy pair of jeans. My new accord feels like Sunday school. I guess I just don't deal with change well, but I know I'll get used to it and I'm sure soon enough it too will feel as comfy as pajamas.

Oh yeah, and today I finally sprung for a new mouse for my computer. Wow, what a difference $10 can make on lowering your frustration level.
