Happy New Year!

Hope everyone is enjoying the last bit of their holiday!

Last night, my boyfriend and I went to eat with another couple at New World Cuisine. I ate and drank way too much. We started off at their house where I had a glass of wine. At the restaurant, the New Year's Eve menu consisted of a 5 course meal with a different glass of wine with each course. I drank about half of each glass except for the red that was served with our tenderloin ( I drank all that glass). Still, I was probably pretty tipsy by the time we left. Here's where the night took a strange turn: While we were eating, the owner of the place tells us all that we're invited to a local jazz club free of charge for the evening. Thinking it might be fun to here some live music, we decided to give it a try. Well, when we pulled up to the building, the place looked deserted. We started feeling sorry for the band inside because there were hardly any cars parked in the front. We were so wrong to think this. We walked into the club and the place was packed with people all dressed in clothes from the 1920's. We stood there for awhile, not knowing quite what to think. We got a lot of strange stares during this time until someone led us to a table where we could sit. Lisa and I danced for a bit, and then my boyfriend and I danced to You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman (which the other couple with us will probably never let him live down). After about 30 minutes, we left. It was fairly obvious we had crashed some strange party and we really felt out of place and way underdressed. It was surreal, to say the least. My boyfriend, who is comfortable everywhere, even said that he hasn't been in a situation that weird since his 20's.

We spent midnight drinking more champagne at his friends' house. After that, I drank 3 big glasses of water, took some vitamins, Advil, and then went to bed. I still didn't feel all that great this morning but at least I avoided what could have been an awful hangover.
