What I'm thankful for

Good friends. Every year since 1992 I spend Thanksgiving with one of my best friends, Sacheen, from college. She lives about 2 hours away from me and we almost always have dinner at her parent's house. I really love going there and look forward to it every year. Things have changed a lot since we first began this tradition. We graduated from college, she got married, she had a baby, and now they are about to move into a huge house that they are having built. It's pretty neat The only sad thing that hasn't changed is me. I'm still single and have no kids. I'm still in school and still broke as ever. And I live in a tiny house. Someday this will change.

Every year becomes more special because I know that someday I won't be able to keep up the tradition due to schedule, family, etc. I'm afraid this year may have been my last year. Next year I'll be an intern and probably won't have off. I may not even live around here anymore to be able to make the trip even if I am off. Honestly, I don't like to even think about it.

Other than having a semi-bad cold, we had a great time. Sacheen's son is now 4 years old and it's becoming much easier to socialize with him. He's actually quite a little character. He informed me that he wants to be a cook at a his favorite mexican restaurant when he grows up. I'm sure his parents are proud. He's also a "boob guy". I didn't know this until he kept hugging me and wouldn't let go. Sacheen told him to stop and explained to me that he loves boobies and is always hugging people so he can feel them. Personally, I think it's kind of adorable that a four year old little boy could have such a fascination with a certain part of the female anatomy. I guess this finally proves that there's not much that separates the 4 year olds from the 40 year olds!
