Senior Banquet

Last night we had our medical school senior banquet. It was mainly mingling, drinking, taking photos, dinner, awards ceremony, and a photo montage of the last 4 years at the end. It was great getting to see some friends I hadn't seen in awhile. I came home kinda of sad. One friend is having a baby in October and I know I will probably never see her again. She's moving to Texas for residency. We're all going to be too busy to really even email, much less go on a trip for a visit.

So tomorrow is the big day! 4 years ago it seemed so far away and now it's here. I hope it lasts long enough for me to enjoy it. Someone asked me the other day if I would do it again. I don't know. It was REALLY hard the first time around. I just don't know if I have it in me to do it again. Lucky for me, I don't ever have to make that decision. Unfortunately, I'm afraid next month is when the real work begins.....

Is he lying or telling the truth?

Ever buy anything from amazon.com marketplace? I do it all the time to buy like-new used textbooks. I also sell a lot of textbooks on there and have never had a problem. Well, 3 weeks ago I ordered an anesthesia text from a private seller and never got it. I emailed the seller a week ago and never heard back. So today, I emailed amazon.com and told them what happened and that I wanted my $50 back. I also left the seller negative feedback with scathing comments like, "unprofessional" and "doesn't return email". Well, tonight, I got an email from him. He was apologetic, saying that he can't be responsible for the post office losing books and that he never got an email from me. In fact, he didn't even know there was a problem until he saw his negative feedback from me. He asked me to remove the feed back since he refunded my money today.

Now I feel bad. Maybe he really did send the book and it got lost. Maybe it was delivered to the wrong address. Maybe someone stole it off my front porch. I was out of town for a week, but my neighbor came by and checked my mail everyday. I doubt she did anything with it. She works at Dillard's. What's she going to do with an anesthesia text?

Still, even if he did mail it. I find it weird that the book got lost AND he didn't get the email I sent him. Since he refunded my money quickly, I removed the negative feedback.

So my question is this: Is he lying about ever sending the book and is now trying to save face or did it get lost?

Meet Brad

This doggie is named Brad. Isn't that a great name for a dog? He belongs to some college friends of mine that I visited today. I'm not sure where his name came from, but it's such a funny name for a dog. Brad. Brad-Brad-Brad. It's like naming a dog Hank...or Joe. His favorite thing to do seems to be running around in circles in the living room and eating. Sometimes he gets into the cats' food and eats that. I understand when that happens there is quite a mess to clean up later.

We had fun today. Hung out, caught up on our big news, went to Home Depot, ate dinner, etc. I hadn't really hung out with them in about 4 years so it was really fun. Dayna and Stephen were friends from college that ended up getting married. The 3 of us were part of a bigger clique of music majors that were inseparable throughout the 4 years of college. Stephen wasn't a music major, but we made him an honorary one anyway since he likes music. Now we are scattered all over the country and a few of us have pretty much disappeared. Dayna and Stephen live 1 1/2 hours away, which is really no excuse for not seeing them more often.

Driving home, it got dark. For some weird reason, I couldn't remember how to turn on my headlights. It was the strangest thing. There I am, driving in the dark wondering why my lights aren't on when I knew I turned them on. Ever forget weird everyday things like that? It's like my neurons just aren't firing right. Hmmm..maybe extra dessert would help that problem.
