OU 17 Oregon 14

Last night my boyfriend and I went to watch the Holiday Bowl at the home of some friends of ours. Thankfully OU clenched the win with an interception on a pass that was probably going to be an Oregon touchdown with 30 seconds left in the game.

The funny part of the game was the couple we were watching the game with. As the game progressed and we watched OU lose their 17-7 lead, Casey, from his viewing chair, decides to start firing the coaching staff at OU, one by one. He started with Brent Venables and went from there. By the end of the game, the entire staff had been fired!

My new red blankie

For Christmas I got a comfy, down filled throw, that has already provided me with many good afternoon naps. Apparently I am not the only owner of this new blanket. Sadie really likes it too. This creates a bit of a problem. She not only likes it, she hogs it.

Up until now, whenever she didn't sleep with me at night, it was because she was sick. The other night I woke up and noticed she wasn't in her usual spot propped up against me so, worried, I went looking for her. I didn't have to look far. I went in the living room and there she was, sleeping on my new blanket! For the past 12 1/2 years, she has been a nearly constant companion next to me at night. Not anymore. I thought it was me she loved. I feel so used.

How I spent my Christmas

Christmas Eve- my nieces came over and we watched The Ice Princess and then they helped me frost sugar cookies that I made earlier that day. That night I went to my mom's and we all ate dinner and exchanged presents. My 25 year old nephew was there and he cried when he opened the present I gave him. He's had a rather chaotic childhood and he's seen his mom maybe a handful of times since he was 12. Anyway, I made him a scrapbook of photos of him from birth until now(I worked on it for weeks!). He said it was the best present he has ever received.

Christmas- went to see the new Jennifer Aniston movie with my brother and then I went to a Blazers hockey game with my friend Tracie.

Today- cleaned out my closets and stuffed 3 trash bags full of clothes for charity. Tonight I went to go see Walk the Line with my mom. It was awesome and I recommend it highly. I ran into the dean of my medical school there, and I was impressed that he recognized me. Well, at least I think he did. He smiled and waved at me, but then again, maybe he thought I was one of his patients.

Right now I'm watching old Cosby Show episodes on Nick at Nite.
