Hungry squirrels

I woke up this morning and discovered that a whole 1 inch of snow covered my yard. As I looked out, I saw this scene unfolding in my backyard. If you can't tell, it's a squirrel hanging off my birdfeeder, stealing their food! Funny, when I bought the birdfood, it said it was especially for songbirds, but apparently squirrels enjoy the food too. It was actually causing quite a ruckus. There were birds all around voicing their anger at the squirrel. Once in a while, a big blue jay would swoop at him/her. Another squirrel was on the ground, scooping up everything the hanging squirrel dropped. I don't know how he managed to get off the birdfeeder, but he's not there now.

I only have 3 interviews left for the year. Tomorrow I have one at my school, then on Sunday I'm leaving for a 5 hour drive for one interview on Monday, then driving another 2 hours for an interview on Tuesday. Then home. As much as I was dreading the traveling, it HAS been kinda fun. I had one Saturday and my boyfriend came along with me, since he has friends where we were going. The residency program put us up in a really nice hotel so it was like a mini-vacation. We really had a good time, and I was sorry to leave. I was really impressed with the program and will be ranking them pretty high on my list. All the residents seemed really happy, which is always a good sign!

When this month is over, I will have my life back. At the end of the month, I get to go to Houston to take my $1,000 clinical skills exam. Don't even get me started on my rant about the absurdity of this test. All I know is I have to take it in Houston and it cost me $1,000. I'll just leave it at that.

I had to give a presentation today in anatomy about Osteosarcomas. It was probably pretty boring, but I have a weird fascination with this topic so I didn't mind too much. I actually recycled this presentation. I did the same topic during my pathology rotation. I mean, I spent a long time putting it together, so why not get good use out of it? Plus, I only had a few days' notice that I was giving mine today, and with interviews taking up so much of my time, I really didn't have much choice.
